Professional Experience

Dr Ayesha Sadozai is a paediatric clinical psychologist, with a wealth of experience garnered through her work in various government services across Australia—including the Child and Family Team, the Diagnostic Service, and Kids Rehab. She pursued her PhD at the University of Sydney, focusing on neurodevelopmental conditions and their impact on executive functioning in children. Her research is at the forefront of identifying unique cognitive markers associated with executive dysfunction in ADHD, autism, specific learning disorders, and Tourette’s syndrome. Ayesha is dedicated to closing the gap between research findings and their application in clinical practice, ensuring that evidence-based methods inform treatment approaches.

Personal Approach

I possess extensive expertise in both assessment and intervention for children facing a variety of behavioural challenges and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism, ADHD, specific learning disorders, selective mutism, intellectual disability, anxiety, and complex trauma. I am versed in a range of therapeutic techniques, such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), parent behaviour programs, anxiety management for children, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) adapted for children and families, social skills enhancement, emotional regulation support, and emotion-focused approaches. Additionally, I’m skilled in developing and implementing behaviour support programs tailored to children with disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions.

I am committed to integrating scientific research with clinical expertise, striving to improve the lives of children and their families through specialised, evidence-based care.

  • Bachelor of Arts - Psychology Honours - Western Sydney University

  • Masters of Psychology (Clinical) - Western Sydney University

  • PhD - University of Sydney, Brain and Mind Centre   

Ayesha works Mondays and the occasional Tuesdays in-clinic, or online and at various times for ad hoc appointments or assessments.
