Gemma Capewell - Specialist Occupational Therapist
Professional Experience
Gemma is an Occupational Therapist with experience working across specialist education, NHS and multidisciplinary settings, supporting children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental differences, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and sensory processing differences. She has worked across ages 2-25 and has held senior and therapy lead roles within specialist schools, alongside her experience contributing to autism assessment and multidisciplinary teams.
Personal Approach
Gemma takes a warm, neuroaffirmative and child-led approach, working collaboratively with young people and their families to understand their strengths, goals and everyday experiences. She believes that meaningful occupations - the activities that matter most to each individual - can be a powerful tool for supporting emotional wellbeing, confidence and participation in daily life. Gemma has a particular interest in mental health, emotional regulation, sensory processing and interoception. She is passionate about helping children and young people develop practical strategies that enable them to thrive at home, in education and in their wider communities.
Gemma works at various times in-person and online.
